Transpoxyl PX 3.71 is a high performance, two-component, low VOC , high solids topcoat that does not contain free isocyanates. It is used as a topcoat for high performance corrosion protection systems. It combines the excellent corrosion protection properties of epoxy coatings with the weather resistance of polyurethane coatings to extend the service life of the coating before the first overhaul.

Construction instructions

Mixing ratio base material: curing agent = 84:16 (weight ratio ) base material: curing agent = 80:20 ( volume ratio )

Pot life after mixing at 10 °C: 6 Hours, 23 °C: 4 Hours, 30 °C: 3 Hours for brush or roller application, dilution ratio 0-5%

Airless spray nozzle pressure: 12-18 MPa 

Spraying angle : 40-80 Spend

Nozzle aperture: 0.38-0.53 Millimeters

Dilution ratio: 0-3% ( volume ratio )

Air spray is not recommended

Thinner / Cleaning Agent 609 Polyurethane Thinner

It is recommended to add an appropriate amount of diluent after the paint base and curing agent components are evenly mixed.

Avoid adding excessive amounts of thinner, which will reduce sag resistance and extend curing time.

(1)The data is for reference only. The actual drying time and recoating interval depend on factors such as paint dry film thickness, ventilation, humidity and previous paint.

(2)The surface must be dry and free of dirt before overcoating. The adhesion of the subsequent coating is best when the previous coating is completely cured . If the coating is exposed for a long time, the surface must be roughened before overcoating to ensure adhesion between the coatings. When overcoating with a single-component paint, the maximum overcoating interval shall not exceed 24 Hour.


Surface treatment

The painted surface must be dry ; SSPC-SP1 According to the regulations , use solvent to remove all grease from the surface ; use clean water to remove salt and stains from the surface . The corroded area must be repaired with a suitable primer.


Construction conditions

The surface temperature of the substrate shall not be lower than 5 °C and at least 3 °C higher than the air dew point temperature, and the relative humidity shall not exceed 85% (the temperature and relative humidity shall be measured near the substrate).

The surface temperature of the substrate should not exceed 40°C . Otherwise, a suitable spraying method should be selected and appropriate diluent should be added as required to prevent dry spraying. In extreme cases, the dry film thickness of the coating can be appropriately reduced to prevent sagging.

When painting in a confined space, appropriate ventilation equipment must be provided to ensure the cure of the paint film.

After the base material and curing agent are mixed, the temperature must be higher than 15 ℃, otherwise a diluent should be added to achieve the required viscosity for construction.

Store

Must be stored in accordance with national regulations. The storage environment should be dry, cool, well-ventilated, avoid high temperatures and stay away from fire. The packaging container must be kept sealed. The storage validity period is at least 12 months.
