Transozinc Silicate 1.52

Product Overview
Transozinc Silicate 1.52 is a two-component moisture-curing ethyl silicate zinc-rich primer that provides excellent protection for steel structures in highly polluted industrial and marine environments. It complies with SSPC Paint 20 level 2. As a special coating for tanks and tanks, it has excellent resistance to most solvents and chemicals. In normal atmospheric exposure environments, its heat resistance range is -90 ℃ to 400 ℃.

Construction instructions

Mixing ratio Main agent : zinc powder slurry = 16 ∶ 84 (weight ratio)

Main agent : zinc powder slurry = 40:60 (volume ratio ) After mixing, the applicable time is 23 ℃ : 8 hours, 30 ℃: 6 Hour

Airless spray nozzle pressure : 12-15 MPa

Nozzle aperture: 0.53-0.64 mm

Spraying angle : 40-80 Spend

Dilution ratio: 0-3% (volume ratio)

Air spray nozzle pressure : 0.4-0.5 MPa

Nozzle aperture: 1.8-2.2 mm

Dilution ratio: 0-10% (volume ratio )

Brush or roller application Thinner / cleaner 607 is only recommended for pre-coating and small area coating Inorganic zinc diluent

It is recommended to add an appropriate amount of diluent after mixing components A and B of the paint evenly.

Avoid adding excessive amounts of thinner, as this will reduce sag resistance and extend curing time.

(1)The data is for reference only. The actual drying time and recoating interval depend on factors such as paint dry film thickness, ventilation, humidity and previous paint.

(2)The surface must be dry and free of dirt before recoating. The adhesion of subsequent coatings is best when the previous coating is completely cured. If the coating is exposed for a long time, the surface must be roughened before recoating to ensure adhesion between the coatings.

Surface treatment

To SSPC-SP1 , remove all grease from the surface with solvent; remove welding residue from the surface and grind the weld and sharp edges with appropriate methods; sandblast to Sa2.5 level ( ISO 8501:1 ).

The steel surface should be painted immediately after being sandblasted to the specified requirements.

Construction conditions

The surface temperature of the substrate shall not be lower than 5 °C and at least 3 °C higher than the air dew point temperature, and the relative humidity shall be 65% to 95% (the temperature and relative humidity shall be measured near the substrate).

The zinc silicate primer is a moisture-curing zinc silicate paint. During its coating construction and subsequent drying and curing, it needs to absorb enough moisture before curing. Therefore, when the relative humidity is lower than 65% , artificial humidification or water wetting and soaking of the coating surface is required to ensure that the coating is fully cured. The degree of curing can be tested by the MEK wiping method ( ASTM D 4752 ): After 50 back and forth wipes with MEK (methyl ethyl ketone ) , no dissolution of the coating was observed.

If there is a matching coating system, in order to avoid blistering and other problems (such as pinholes) in the subsequent coating, it is necessary to use an approved paint for sealing.

Recommended Package

The following are typical high-performance coating systems:TO1.52 Inorganic zinc silicate primer 1 × 75μm (dry film thickness )

Store

Must be stored in accordance with national regulations. The storage environment should be dry, cool, well-ventilated, avoid high temperatures, and stay away from fire. The packaging container must be kept sealed. The shelf life ( 25 °C) of the main agent is 6 months, and the zinc paste is 12 months. When the ambient temperature exceeds 25 °C, the shelf life will be shortened as the temperature rises, and it is not recommended to store in an environment above 40 °C.
